Another fine vintage mid century modernist signed Dansk piece acquired from local philanthropist estate collection excellent original condition circa 1960s-1970s six hole salt shaker designed by Jens Quistgaard LARGE GORGEOUS Salt Shaker and peppermill combo second edition #825, signed on base Dansk Designs LTD Denmark JHQ with Peugeot Freres Lion grinder, measures 8-1/4" tall x 4" wide. #825 is named Chess Piece/Table Seasoner with 2 removable plugs the top is for salt and the bottom is for peppercorns.

The opposite side has stationary pegs for design purposes only. What makes this piece even more desirable and valuable is the high quality grinder mechanism is made by Peugeot marked Peugeot Feres Lion which is considered the best of the best that will last a lifetime! This model of combined pepper-mill and salt shaker was made by Dansk and introduced around 1964 as the Style 825 table seasoner. It was designed by Jens Quistgaard and the original variant had 9 salt holes and a low pivot.

Due to high production costs they made some slight changes and this is the second generation model with six salt holes and a higher pivot. The grinder is marked Pugeot-Lion and the device is in good condition.

It stands 8 1/4 inches tall. This one is essentially the same in all respects and just as collectible.
