Nippon Salt and Pepper Bone China Porcelain Royal Satsuma 1920-30's. Hand enamel with some gold guild.
Lovely Royal Satsuma Porcelain Bone china. Multiple color and designs on each. They both have similar designs but are individually painted so they very.
The holes are different sizes. The holes are smaller on one shaker than the other. I found that this is because some prefer the salt to flow freely and put in the shaker with the larger holes. But some like to limit the salt so it is put in the shaker with the smaller holes. The hallmark looks like "satsu", But I think it should be Satsuma. Royal Satsuma was made in Japan for international trade. These are wonderful antiques and thank you for looking!
