Collectible and highly sought-after Jens Harald Quistgaard set of 7 Dansk teak pepper miil / salt shaker from the 1960's. Each piece is handcrafted of beautifully grained Siamese teak with a natural finish. 3 peppermills come with metal grinder including 1 with the earliest metal grinding mechanism made by Peugeot, France. 2 other peppermills have black plastic grinder. Two pepper mills were made in Denmark.

The remaining three pepeprmills were made in Thailand: 2 - with metal grinder and original clear label on one; 1 - with black plastic grinder. Jens Quistgaard used a top quality grinding mechanisms made of case-hardened steel by Peugeot Freres Lion, France.

The grinders have an authentic insignia with lion and arrow, show some aging and known to be the best on the market for almost 200 years (since 1840). The durability of these mechanisms and their proven track record allows Peugeot to provide a lifetime guarantee on the grinding mechanism. Each peppermill is designed to have salt shaker chamber on top with removable wooden plug/peg. All 5 pepper grinders have rotating black disks to cover the insertion holes. 2 pepper mills from Denmark group including one with Peugeot grinder, are marked : "Dansk Designs LTD Denmark JHQ".

The rotating black plastic disks of the Thailand group are marked: " Dansk Designs LTD Thailand JHQ ". Both pepper and salt shakers are from Malaysia. Some very minor wood wear (some minor nicks, "flea bites") consistent with its age are present and must be accepted. Nothing major, but we have to mention it for the accuracy of the description (please view all photos attached). All pieces have been tested and are in very good working condition.

The set is very clean, comes from smoke free environment and would be a perfect addition to any of mid-century, Eames style collection! Beautiful decorative object, useful piece of art, wonderful and very elegant gift as well as a great investment! With normal care it will last for generations...
