This is the rarer short version of the two Swiss Army (Schweizer Armee) Vintage Salt and Pepper Rucksacks(backpacks), it measures 17 x 16 x 4 inches, front pouch is 8 x 11 x 2. These rucksacks are made of an unusually strong ripstop canvas that has a salt-and-pepper look to it. Leather shoulder straps and tie-downs. Extra large buckle-down rain flap.

Foldable soft pack with no frame. School Books, Laptop and Day Hike size. Size height: Recommend someone less than 5' 6 (At 6' the shoulder straps are too tight at the longest setting).

Water-resistant, textured salt and pepper canvas with leather straps and bottom. Flapped exterior pocket measures 8 x 11 x 2 inches. Measures 17 x 16 x 4 inches. This one has 3 small holes in the bottom rip stop material. See pictures pointing to three holes on bottom.
