Elegant Antique Silver Cruet Salt and Pepper Pot Birm 1895, 93g
Very elegant antique salt and pepper pot in solid silver, made by J E Bushell (JEB), Birmingham, in 1895 (stylised v). They are a classic urn shape with a round foot, a body decorated with scrolls, swags and flowers and screw-on tops with little finials, which are working well. Both the body and the tops are hallmarked. The feet are showing their age a bit and the outer rim has become bent and misshapen in places on both pots. This hasn't affected their stability.
There are also a couple of marks on one pot at the rim where the top screws on and I think the finial is off centre slightly. However if you like your antiques to look antique, these have great charm, a pleasant slightly grey silver colour and will look like they have been in the family for generations.
