For display purposes, obviously that side can be hidden. As collectors know, it's not unusual for these cracks to occur in the older teak mills. There is a tiny divot on top that may actually be part of the original teak, it's not atypical to see variations in the wood, both in color and texture. We photographed it very closeup to give buyers the best look possible, but it's barely noticeable with the naked eye.
The stopper shows typical use marks from pulling it out to reload salt. We did not attempt to remove it. Overall the piece is lovely and would make a wonderful addition to a collection. The last picture is from a gallery photo that shows a collection of rare Jens Quistgaard, Dansk pepper mills. Please note one like ours on the far left, front.
We are allowing a bit of wiggle room by enacting the Best Offer feature. There are very few of these out there, if any, for sale, but we do give consideration to the fact that the piece has condition issues.
